How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. (Psalm 139:17-18)
Sitting with my toes squeezed in the sand. The sun shone ever so bright, with a cool breeze swishing over my face. Ahh! What a beautiful day at the beach. I was pondering over this passage the Lord spoke to my heart earlier that morning in Psalm 139. God’s thoughts for us are precious, and we are valuable to Him. We are never forgotten, and we are never alone. His thoughts are immeasurable and vast, even as the grains of sand beneath our feet. We have the assurance of His constant presence, concern, and care no matter where we are or what we face.
Let the next time you find yourself at the beach—or in a quiet moment remind you how deeply God cherishes you. What peace it brings to know we are always on His mind.
